I am an Early Childhood major, with a master degree in Elementary/Reading . I have been teaching for 20 years and have worked with students grade early childhood to third grade. I enjoy teaching and really get excited watching children learn to read as well as manipulated numbers. I am now teaching first grade and have worked with students to enhance their reading skills throught tutoring after school.Parents love my work and I haven't heard any regrets thus far.
Experience
My previous tutoring experiences are: Afterschool tutoring(3 years) and R.O.T.O.R. Summer Academy(3 years). Student's Iowa Basic Skill score 97 percent. I would like to become a tutor in order to help those who can't read become those that can and I would also like to enhance the reading skill of those who can in the area of comprehension to vocabulary. I have taken classes with decoding, whole word, teaching reading skills such as inference, comprehension, text and grahpic features, etc.
